Brush fires ignite in Daytona Beach

Lightning causes at least 2 fires, authorities say


DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Several brush fires have ignited in Daytona Beach and at least two were caused by lightning, according to Daytona Beach Fire Department.

Fire officials say more than five separate fires in the area of LPGA Boulevard and Williamson Boulevard have ignited.

There was also a brush fire reported at Indigo Lakes subdivision, fire officials said. There are no homes reported to be in danger, according to David Newell of the Daytona Beach Fire Department.
