TAVARES, Fla. – More than two dozen men expecting to meet children were instead greeted by law enforcement officers and arrested in a Lake County sex sting.
Twenty-six men, ranging in age from 19 to 69, were arrested by Lake County deputies at a vacant home in Tavares.
The men conversed in an Internet chat room with whom they believed were underage girls, according to deputies. They were then arrested when they showed up to a home to meet the girls, deputies said.
Some of the men took beer and marijuana with them, and most of them had condoms, deputies said.
Most of the arrestees are from Central Florida, although one man, a truck driver, traveled from Georgia, deputies said.
