Food Assistance Cards to be deactivated

New ACCESS Card will be replaced every four years

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Department of Children and Families is reminding families receive food assistance that their old Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) cards with the flag design will be deactivated on Friday.

The new card, called ACCESS, was phased in beginning in January 2012. Any client who still has the old EBT card needs to call 1-888-356-3281 to receive a new ACCESS card, which has a lighthouse design.

Similar to a commercial credit or debit card, the new ACCESS card has an expiration date and will be replaced automatically every four years with a new design.
