50-degree temperatures hit parts of Central Florida

Rain chances slim in Orlando over next few days

ORLANDO, Fla. – Some Central Floridians got a taste of fall Monday morning as temperatures dipped into the 50s in Marion County.

"Fall officially arrived Saturday morning, and some children even needed jackets this morning at the bus stop," said Local 6 meteorologist Troy Bridges, referring to students headed to school in the northern parts of the region.

The high temperature in Orlando is expected to reach 89 degrees on Monday, with an overnight low of 70.

Rain chances are slim in the Orlando area for the next two days.

"We'll see slight rain chances returning through the end of the week," said Bridges, adding that there will be a 40 percent chance of rain by the weekend.
