Fire cancels classes at Ocala school

Blaze cuts off power to Shady Hill Elementary School

OCALA, Fla. – Students who attend a Marion County school will not be attending class Tuesday after an electrical fire cut off power to the school.

The school district told Local 6 that the fire happened at Shady Hill Elementary School near Ocala.

The school was not damaged, but the electrical lines to the campus were not working.

Power was expected to be restored by Tuesday afternoon.

Employees were asked to report to work as usual.
