Minivan jumps pool, crashes into Orlando house

Home sustained structural damage, officials say

ORLANDO, Fla. – An out-of-control minivan carrying a mother and two young girls struck a car before crashing into a house Thursday morning in Orlando, according to officials.

The wreck happened around 7:50 a.m. near Hinkley Road and Hudson Street in Pine Hills.

The mother and her daughters, ages 2 and 5, were not injured in the crash, which the woman said occurred because her brakes failed.

According to the driver of the car that was struck, the minivan slammed into the front of her vehicle while she was stopped, drove through a couple of yards and jumped a swimming pool before crashing through a screened-in porch and into the house.

Two people inside the home were uninjured after the minivan came to a stop a few feet from where they were sitting.

The driver of the other car was also not injured.

The house sustained structural damage.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
