MELBOURNE, Fla. – Melbourne police have officially charged a man in the killing of the Melbourne woman who was found dead in her home last month.
Matthew Sharp, 22, was first charged with grand theft after police say they found Sharp and two other men in Leah Yoresh's Black 2012 Hyundai Accent on Jan. 17 at a RaceTrak gas station.
He was charged on Friday with murder after evidence was uncovered connecting Sharp to Youresh's death, police said.
Also, between the date of the murder and the day he was located in the stolen vehicle, Sharp attempted to use Yoresh's credit cards at different stores to purchase gas, food, video games and a TV
The manner in which Yoresh died is not being released at this time as it is part of the ongoing investigation.
Yoresh's body was found in a pool of blood in early January by a friend, who was able to peer into the home and spotted Yoresh on the floor.
