South Florida police officer delivers baby at school

Woman gives birth while picking up her older child at school


MIRAMAR, Fla. – A South Florida police officer is being congratulated for making a special delivery

Miramar Police School Resource Officer Natasha Richardson delivered a baby girl at Fairway Elementary Thursday afternoon.

WPLG-TV reports the child's mother arrived at the school to pick up her older child, when her contractions began to increase in frequency.

The newborn, named Maybelle Colin Sainvilus and her mother were later transported to Memorial Regional Hospital and are doing well.
