Man sought in attacking, raping woman, Daytona Beach police say

Culprit also stabbed woman

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Daytona Beach police are searching for the man who they say attacked and raped a woman who was leaving her friend's house early Friday morning.

According to the police report, the victim was walking to another friend's house on Cedar Street at 4 a.m. when a man grabbed her from behind, covering her nose and mouth, threw her to the ground and stabbed her in the face.

The man then raped the woman, police said.

The culprit is described as a black male with light to medium skin tone, 25-35 years old, 5 feet 5 inches to 6 feet tall and approximately 160-175 pounds, police said. He has a mustache and shoulder-length dreadlocks.
