2 accused of pistol-whipping Orlando store worker

Police search for 2 masked gunmen in 2 Walgreens robberies

ORLANDO, Fla. – Orlando police say the two men who robbed a store at gunpoint and pistol-whipped a worker may be linked to a robbery at another robbery.

A worker at a Walgreens in Orlando was pistol-whipped during a robbery at around 11 p.m. Monday at 5501 S. Kirkman Road near Vineland Road.

According to Orlando police, two masked gunmen entered the Walgreens, and one of them forced an employee into an office at gunpoint.

While in the office, one of the culprits pistol-whipped the employee before robbing the store and fleeing, possibly in a vehicle.

Employees told police that the two suspects had been acting suspicious while going in and out of the store about two hours prior to the robbery.

Police said hours later, a Walgreens store was robbed on Bumby Avenue and Colonial Drive. Police said cigarettes were stolen from the counter and it's not believed that the two robberies were connected.

The assailants were described as males, both about 6'2" and about 200 pounds.

Both men were wearing all black clothing and one had shoulder length dreadlocks.

The employee was treated at the scene and is OK, police said.

Anyone with information about the robbery is urged to call Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS.
