Suspicious fire investigated in Daytona Beach

Small fires found inside ignited home, fire officials say


DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Daytona Beach fire officials are investigating a suspicious fire that ignited early Wednesday morning.

The Daytona Beach Fire Department said it received report of the fire at 3:30 a.m. at a home on Tanglewood Street.

Once inside of the home, crews found several small fires and extinguished them quickly, according to the report.

No one was inside of the home at the time of the fire but witnesses say two men were seen leaving before the fire crews arrived.

Firefighters have turned the scene over to the Florida State Fire Marshal's Office for further investigation.

Firefighters believe the fire caused about $30,000 in damages.
