Tropical Storm Gabrielle downgraded to depression

Storm not expected to threaten Florida

ORLANDO, Fla. – Weather warnings for Puerto Rico have been discontinued after Tropical Storm Gabrielle was downgraded to a depression.

The storm's maximum sustained winds Thursday were 35 mph.

Computer models show the storm weakening over Hispaniola in the coming days.

The storm brought heavy rain to parts of Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands and eastern portions of the Dominican Republic.

The storm was centered about 65 miles west-southwest of Ponce, Puerto Rico, and was moving northwest near 8 mph.
