Knights roll on the road at FIU

Knights control play from beginning to end Friday night, winning 38-0

MIAMI – The UCF football team will head into its highly anticipated matchup with Penn State fresh off another dominant non-conference win.

Facing instate rival FIU on the road Friday night, the Knights controlled play from beginning to end, winning 38-0.

UCF broke away from FIU in the 2nd quarter behind two Storm Johnson rushing touchdowns, building a 24-0 lead by halftime. Johnson added a third touchdown to his collection in the 3rd quarter.

UCF quarterback Blake Bortles finished with 214 yards passing, threw for a touchdown and ran for one as well.

The defense posted its first shutout since 2011, holding FIU to less than 200 yards of total offense.

The Knights improve to 2 and 0 and will now prepare for their toughest challenge to date: A September 14th road game Penn State. Kick off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
