Police: Father arrested for badly injuring infant daughter

Police say father admits to abusing infant, breaking bones

ST. CLOUD, Fla. – St. Cloud police say a father was arrested after they discovered he had been abusing his six-month-old daughter.

Police were called to Arnold Palmer Hospital on Friday to investigate along with the Department and Children and Family Services allegations of child abuse.

Doctors told police a six-month-old girl was admitted into the hospital with a possible broken femur, a large bruise on her chest, possible fractured ribs, and a head injury.

Police said they arrested the baby's father, 25-year-old Chadd Spicer and charged him with aggravated child abuse and child neglect early Saturday morning.

After questioning, police said Spicer admitted to injuring his daughter.

Spicer was taken to the Osceola County Jail where he is being held with zero bond, police said.

Authorities said the child remains hospitalized at this time at Arnold Palmer Children's Hospital.
