Pedestrian struck, killed in Orange County

Police say the unidentified man walked into traffic

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – An unidentified man was killed in Orange County on Monday night when police say he walked into oncoming traffic and was hit by a car.

The accident occurred the intersection of Colonial Drive and Rivers Edge Drive.

Police reports say that witnesses saw the pedestrian going eastbound in the bike lane on Colonial Drive when he walked directly in front of a vehicle driven by a 27-year-old Lake City man.

The pedestrian was taken to Florida Hospital East where he died, according to the police report. Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the incident and trying to find out the identity of the deceased.
