Orange County McDonald's drive-through robbed at gunpoint

Suspect reached in window, pointed gun at employee's head

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Orange County deputies are searching for a man who robbed a McDonald's drive-through at gunpoint Monday night after grabbing an employee.

The robbery happened around 8:45 p.m. at the restaurant on Orange Blossom Trail at Rose Avenue.

Surveillance video shows a man wearing a dark mask with a hooded sweatshirt and a black handgun opening the drive-through window. He then reaches in and grabs an employee by her uniform, points the gun to her head and forces her to open the cash register.

The man took all the money and ran away, deputies said.

Orange County deputies say they brought in a K-9 but couldn't find the gunman.

Investigators do not have a good description of the suspect, but call him dangerous, bold and experienced at committing crimes.

"Fortunately, there were a handful of customers inside the business who never knew this robbery occurred," said Orange County Sheriff's Lt. Paul Hopkins. "He was that quick, getting in the window, getting the money and getting away."

Anyone who recognizes the man or has any information about the robbery is asked to call Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS.
