ORMOND BEACH, Fla. – A stranded dolphin that washed up Thursday afternoon in Ormond Beach is expected to be euthanized, according to the Volusia County Beach Patrol.
Hubbs Sea World was called out to the beach just before 5 p.m. Thursday.
Officials said it appears the dolphin will have to be euthanized.
The dolphin may have suffered from the same illness that has been killing dolphins around the state, beach patrol officials said.
