SANFORD, Fla. – George Zimmerman's public defender filed a motion on Friday seeking the return of Zimmerman's iPhone, Blackberry, a flashlight and a pocketknife that were taken during Zimmerman's arrest on battery charges.
Zimmerman was released from jail last week after posting $9,000 bond, a day after he was arrested on allegations of pointing a gun at his girlfriend.

"These items collected were not related to the charges in any way and are not considered evidence in this matter," the motion read.
According to Zimmerman's intake interview sheet, obtained by Local 6 on Monday, Zimmerman said he was homeless and lists defense attorney Mark O'Mara as his mailing address. Zimmerman told jail staff he did not have an emergency contact and said he is unemployed.
Zimmerman was charged with aggravated assault, battery and criminal mischief following the domestic violence incident with his girlfriend. The judge also ordered that Zimmerman must stay away from his girlfriend, Samantha Scheibe and her home on Topfield Court. He is also not allowed to have weapons and ammunition and cannot leave Central Florida.
Zimmerman is on GPS electronic monitoring as he awaits his next court date on Jan. 7, 2014 at 1:30 p.m.
