"Good morning Zellwood parents.  One bear and two cubs have been spotted on property near Zellwood Elementary, but not on school property.  Law enforcement has been notified, and is helping to ensure that Zellwood children, the walkers, get to school safely. Thank you."

The announcement comes a day after a woman in Longwood, about 13 miles away, said a bear chased her while she was walking her dog.

Meanwhile, last week, another Longwood woman was attacked by a bear and suffered serious facial injuries.

Two adult bears were trapped and euthanized in the woman's attack.
