UCF Knights head to Arizona

Team plays in first BCS bowl on Jan. 1

ORLANDO, Fla. – The UCF Knights headed to Arizona on Friday to prepare for the team's first ever BCS bowl game.

The team left the practice facility next to Bright House Networks stadium around 9 a.m. Players and coaches took buses to Orlando International Airport where they will catch a flight to Glendale.

UCF will face the Baylor Bears on January 1 in the 2014 Tostitos Fiesta Bowl at University of Phoenix Stadium.

The 15th-ranked Knights, led by quarterback Blake Bortles and running backs Storm Johnson and Will Stanback, finished undefeated in the American Athletic Conference and have an 11-1 overall record.

UCF was listed as a 17.5-point underdog days before the Fiesta Bowl.

Local 6 will follow the Knights to Arizona for special coverage beginning on Monday. Tune in at 7 p.m. on January 1 for a special pregame show hosted by Local 6 sports director David Pingalore and anchor Matt Austin.
