ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – An abandoned house in Orange County was destroyed by a fire in just a matter of minutes on Tuesday.
Smoke could be seen for miles after the flames broke out at the home on Old Winter Garden Road, right near John Young Parkway.
People watching the fire said they could feel the heat from the flames, all the way across the street.
A cell phone video was taken by P.J. Hardy, one of the first people at the scene. You could see the flames shooting over the trees. Black smoke could be seen from miles away, all the way up John Young Parkway.
Fire officials said the house is abandoned and has been for several years. There has not been any power to the house, so it's still unclear how the fire started.
At one point, the flames got about a foot away from a church next door.
