FDOT to fund project for Interntional Speedway Blvd.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Florida Department of Transportation is funding a $20-million project for Daytona Beach International Speedway.

The project includes plans to build two more pedestrian bridges over International Speedway Boulevard and wider sidewalks stretching nearly a mile and a half.

Once the budget is approved, the construction phase will begin in July.

FDOT says the walkways will help keep pedestrians safe as well as the millions of race fans expected to visit the renovated speedway.

The $400-million overhaul of the speedway is going as scheduled .
