Helicopter captures end of pursuit along State Road 417

SANFORD, Fla. – A suspected drunken driver was taken into custody after Seminole County deputies say he nearly hit two cars while fleeing from officers.

Deputies tried to pull Ricardo Wilson over after they say he ran several red lights on State Road 46 in Sanford early Monday morning. According to deputies, Wilson refused to stop and fled at a high rate of speed.

At one point, officers say he almost hit two cars during the pursuit on State Road 417.

Helicopter video captured the seconds after deputies deployed Stop Sticks, sending sparks flying from Wilson's car. 

Deputies say they eventually arrested Wilson after he stopped on an exit ramp on S.R. 417 at Red Bug Lake Road.

Wilson was taken into custody and faces charges of fleeing and eluding, driving with a suspended license, resisting arrest, reckless driving and driving under the influence.
