ORLANDO, Fla. – An alert issued to parents by the Orange County School District warned of a man approaching a little girl Wednesday afternoon.

The following alert was sent to Local 6 by a parent of a child at Stone Lakes Elementary School in Orlando.

"At approximately 2:15 p.m. today, a dark complexion man with dark hair, driving a white car, approached an elementary school girl on Anastasia Lane near the community pool. He asked her to help him find his lost dog and then followed her all the way up Three Rivers toward Golden Rain Tree. The girl was riding her bike alone on the sidewalk. 911 dispatched a deputy to complete a search of the area."

Another alert was issued by the neighborhood watch saying there have been several reports of a man following and approaching young children in the same neighborhood in the past few days. That alert said the man may have a beard and may be driving a "beat up looking" white Oldsmobile.
