Dozens of Lake County cars hit by vandals

Deputies looking for car vandals

LAKE COUNTY, Fla. – Lake County deputies are investigating dozens of car vandalism cases after cars were found with windows smashed out.

Deputies said the incidents happened overnight and it appeared the windows were shot out with some sort of BB or pellet guns.

Deputies said around 4 a.m. Saturday, a newspaper delivery person reported seeing several car windows smashed out in the area of Sailfish Avenue in Fruitland Park. 

Deputies said as they started their investigation, they found many more cases in the area.

At this time a total of 65 incidents have been documented in multiple areas throughout Lake County including Fruitland Park, Leesburg, Eustis and Umatilla, deputies said.
