ORLANDO, Fla. – Singer Robin Thicke canceled his planned weekend concert at Universal Orlando.
Thicke, best known for his hit "Blurred Lines" was supposed to appear as part of the park's Mardi Gras event on Saturday.
But Friday night he released a statement saying: "I never want to let down my fans but I have unfortunately lost my voice and cannot perform tomorrow night. I have been looking forward to going to Universal Studios in Orlando, and am very sorry that my concert there tomorrow now has to be canceled. I apologize to everyone".
Thicke also canceled a concert in Atlanta Friday night.
Universal says its Mardi Gras event will go on as planned with a performance by an authentic New Orleans band. Universal says it is "sorry for any inconvenience" and says Thicke has agreed to reschedule his performance at Universal for a later date.
