Pet Rescue by Judy gets new $1M building

Rescue owner says she is thrilled with high-quality facility

SANFORD, Fla. – A 21-year-old pet rescue in Central Florida is moving to a new million-dollar facility.

The new building for Pet Rescue by Judy is being funded by corporations and features an epoxy floor and natural lighting system.

"Every time I go in there it makes me so happy knowing the dogs will wake up and see sunshine and see stars at night," Judy Sarullo, the owner said. "It's so good for the animals."

After 11 moves in 21 years, this 6,000 square-foot facility is a dream come true for Sarullo.

"I cry and I get goosebumps every time I come in here. It just breaks my heart with happiness knowing how comfortable the animals will be," she said.

Sarullo was involved with every detail from the trees in the cat room, to the food prep and laundry areas, to a meet-and-greet living room. Other features include an air filtration system and fire suppression system.

Finishing touches are being added as the rescue looks forward to a grand opening in the next few weeks.
