Crash on I-4 leaves 1 girl dead

No charges filed in collision


VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – A vehicular collision on I-4 left one girl dead on Sunday.

At 5 p.m. Sunday, a four-door Nissan merged into a Jeep on I-4 westbound in Volusia County. The Jeep overturned on the highway as a result of the impact.

Brandie Howard, 17, was in the passenger seat of the Jeep and suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash, according to police. The driver, 19-year-old Kaley Terry, sustained minor injuries and was transported to Halifax Medical Center.

The 20-year-old man driving the sedan was uninjured. No charges have been filed, and the crash remains under investigation.
