Deputies investigate after body found in Lake County

Tattoos on body released in hopes of leads to ID

CLERMONT, Fla. – Lake County deputies are investigating after a female body was found in Clermont.

Deputies said the body, which has been identified as an 18-25 year old woman, was found just before 9 a.m. in the area on Hancock Road and Hartwood Marsh Road by a person on a walk.

A neighbor was walking her dog near the woods when she spotted the woman's body. She told deputies she took the same route yesterday and saw nothing out of the ordinary.

Deputies said the woman's body was in the woods for less than 24 hours.

A picture of one of two tattoos on the woman's body was released by officials in hopes that it may lead to an identification. One tattoo is on the woman's upper, left chest area (pictured below).

The other tattoo is located on the woman's left shoulder, reading "What nourishes me also destroys me."

The description of the body does not match any LCSO missing persons cases. No other area agencies have said it matches theirs either.

Video from Local 6 helicopter Sky 6 shows crews investigating a wooded area and blocking off the intersection with crime scene tape.

Deputies have not released details about how the woman died or how she got there, but said they are investigating the incident as a suspicious death.
