ORLANDO, Fla. – A Greyhound bus traveling a route from Orlando to Atlanta was involved in a fatal crash near the Florida-Georgia border Friday night.
The bus left Orlando around 8:15 p.m. Friday The Florida Highway Patrol was called just before 12 a.m. to the scene of the accident, which happened on Interstate 75 at mile marker 449, about 10 miles south of Jasper in Hamilton County.
Troopers said a 91-year-old driver was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes when he ran head-on into another car.
The 55-year-old driver of that car was killed, troopers said. The 91-year-old man was also killed.
The Greyhound bus was also involved in the crash, along with two other vehicles after the initial wrong-way crash happened, troopers said.
Troopers said there were 42 passengers on board the bus at the time of the crash and 13 of them sustained injuries.
FHP's Traffic Homicide Investigation unit is investigating the multiple-vehicle crash.
