Historic landmark goes up in flames during wedding
Investigators blame careless smoker for sparking flames
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – A bride's walk down the aisle turned into a sprint for safety after the pavilion caught fire.
The historic landmark in Foxborough burned to the ground Sunday just as the wedding finished.
"As I pronounced them husband and wife and they proceeded to go down the aisle one more time, all of a sudden we noticed there were some wisps of smoke," justice of the peace Jerry Cibley said.
Cibley was able to marry the two before the flames started to climb the structure walls.
Investigators blame a careless smoker for causing the fire.
No one was injured.
