Duo sexually assaulted girls in Altamonte Springs, police say

Police say there may be other victims

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. – Two men were arrested in Altamonte Springs on allegations of sexually assaulting three girls.

Marcos Maceira-Ramos, 27, was arrested Monday and Julio Hernandez-Rodriguez, 21, was arrested Friday, according to Altamonte Springs police, who added that both face multiple counts of sexual assault with victims under the age of 12.

Altamonte Springs police said three victims have been identified, but detectives believe there could be others. Police said they believe the men used the first victim to gain access to her friends and then molested all three.

As part of Maceira-Ramos and Hernandez-Rodriguez's bond hearings, they were ordered not to contact the victims. An arraignment is set for June.

Local 6 talked with Maceira-Ramos' wife, who said she doesn't believe the allegations.

"I know deep in my heart that it's not true," she said. "I don't know, maybe I'm being naive or not seeing reality, but deep down in my heart, I know that my husband is not capable of doing something like that ever."

His wife described Maceira-Ramos as an "awesome father," who works two jobs to provide for his family.

Anyone with additional information about Maceira-Ramos and Hernandez-Rodriguez, who are cousins, is urged to call Altamonte Springs police or Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS.
