FHP releases report in Winter Park day care crash

1 child killed, more than a dozen injured in crash

WINTER PARK, Fla. – Florida Highway Patrol troopers released the report on Wednesday detailing the crash into the Winter Park day care center that killed one child and injured a dozen others.

According to the report, the car Robert Corcado is accused of crashing into the back of, pushing it into the KinderCare Learning Center on Goldenrod Road drove into the day care's playroom area, hitting three children before crashing into a second room and hitting more children before stopping.

FHP also said the driver of the Toyota Solara that crashed into the day care, 61-year-old Albert Campbell, voluntarily gave a blood sample following the crash, but the results have not been released. No charges have been filed against Campbell as of Wednesday.

Corchado, 28, turned himself in last week after the crash prompted a statewide manhunt. He was booked into the Orange County jail on $100,000 bond.

He faces charges of leaving the scene of an accident with death.

Four-year-old Lily Quintus was killed and more than a dozen others were injured in the crash last week. One of the boys that was admitted to Arnold Palmer Hospital with serious injuries was released on Wednesday.
