LAKELAND, Fla. – A teacher, who was arrested by Lakeland Police on accusations of having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old student, previously taught in Orange County according to a district spokeswoman.

Officials also would not say if Fichter resigned or was terminated, pending the release of her personnel file.

Fichter, an English teacher at the Central Florida Aerospace Academy, was  charged with six counts unlawful sexual activity with a minor in Polk County and now faces additional charges in Hillsborough after meeting the teen for sex near Plant City, police said.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office tells Local 6 Fichter is expected to be transported from Polk County to Hillborough County, where she'll be booked into jail and eventually face a judge there on the new counts.

The Hillsborough warrants for Fichter's arrest, which stemmed from incidents where she met with student in a parking lot over the county line, were served on Tuesday night.

Fichter told the boy's mother she had sex with him 20 to 30 times, got pregnant at one point and had an abortion, according to police. She also professed her love for him and said she does not regret her actions, police said.

A Polk County judge set Fichter's bond at $70,000.

In 2012 the Polk County Sheriff's office also investigated Fichter in reference to inappropriate communication with a student on Facebook, but they never found evidence of a crime.
