Llama on the loose on college campus

Police coax animal into running to nearby foothills

TRINIDAD, Colo. – Police rushed to the campus of Trinidad State Junior College in Colorado to take care of a potential hazard -- a llama.

Students reported seeing the llama Wednesday afternoon near some of the campus buildings. The school described the llama as "docile" but said it wouldn't let anyone come near it.

Trinidad police were able to coax the llama to run to the western edge of the city and into the foothills.

College workers posted pictures and video to the school's Facebook and YouTube pages.

Trinidad police believe the llama may have escaped from a "llama sitter" while its owners weren't home.
