CLERMONT, Fla. – A man who attempted to rob a Trustco bank in Clermont has been arrested, according to the Lake County Sheriff's Office.

The suspect, who has been identified as a 41-year-old man, entered the bank around 1:15 p.m. on Thursday. He implied that he had a weapon, and demanded money from the bank teller.

Police located the suspect around 2 p.m., when the suspect nearly hit one of the deputy vehicles. The suspect then drove away fast and recklessly, according to police. A brief pursuit ensued before the suspect drove over "stop sticks" that deflated his tires on Harwood Marsh Road. As a result, the suspect's vehicle struck a Jeep SUV.
