Temperatures skyrocket as storms move through Central Florida

ORLANDO, Fla. – Temperatures skyrocketed in Orlando Monday as an early round of thunderstorms move through in the evening.

The high in Orlando zoomed to 93 Wednesday afternoon, ahead of an early round of sea breeze thunderstorms.

Look for rain coverage to be about 20% with these showers, said Local 6 Chief Meteorologist Tom Sorrells.

Temperatures drop to 70 degrees before the sun rises Tuesday.

The high Tuesday will go right back to at least 92. The afternoon rain chances will be 20 percent.

Wednesday the high will approach 93 again with a 30 percent chance of rain.

By Thursday, we finally get relief from the heat with a high of 89 and a 40 percent chance of rain.

Friday the high dips to 83, rain chance will be 40 percent.
