BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – The newest member of the Brevard County Sheriff's Office needs a name -- and your help.
A 12-week-old male Bloodhound puppy was donated to the agency's K-9 unit by the Jimmy Ryce Foundation, Local 6 news partner Florida Today reports.
Sheriff Wayne Ivey is asking the public to help find the perfect moniker for the pooch, who will be trained to search for missing and endangered children and adults.
Entries can be posted on either of the official Facebook pages of the sheriff's office or Ivey's. Contenders are asked to post their submissions by midnight on May 16.
Ivey and his K-9 team will review the names and pick the winner. That person will be invited to join the agency at the swearing-in ceremony of the newest member of the K-9 team.
