Volusia deputies investigate after body pulled from pool

Woman's body found in pool at Ormond Beach home

ORMOND BEACH, Fla. – Volusia County deputies are investigating what led to a woman drowning in a pool on Tuesday afternoon.

Deputies said the body of 68-year-old Linda Raszl, of New York, was found in a pool at a home on Ineri Court in Ormond Beach just before 2:30 p.m.

Raszl was visiting her son, who lives at the house in the Halifax Plantation community, when she went for a swim in the screened-in pool, deputies said.

According to deputies, Raszl was found by her son in the water, motionless and unresponsive.

Deputies said she was pulled from the pool and CPR was performed on her until paramedics arrived, but she died at the scene.

Based on the preliminary investigation, nothing suspicious was noted, deputies said. The Volusia County medical examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine a cause of death.
