ORLANDO, Fla. – Orlando police on Wednesday said they have identified a man known as "Hello Kitty," who tried to rape a woman outside an IHOP.

The man's name, however, has not been released.

"Due to that the investigation is ongoing and charges have not yet been filed pending the outcome of the investigation, his identity is not available at this time," police said.

According to Orlando police, a 20-year-old woman left the restaurant at 647 East Colonial Drive around 3:40 a.m. Monday and was headed to her vehicle when she was approached by a man

The man exposed his genitals and performed a lewd act before asking the woman to perform a sex act on him, said police, who added that the man forced himself on top of the woman in an attempt to rape her.

The man then left, possibly driving away in a silver or light-colored vehicle.

The assailant was described by the woman as a white or Hispanic man, about 6 feet tall and 170 pounds.  He has black hair and brown eyes.

Police said the man may go by the nickname "Hello Kitty" and possibly lives in west Orlando or Orange County.
