ORMOND BEACH, Fla. – Blood on the door of a Ormond Beach home and broken windows led Volusia County deputies to a marijuana grow house, officials said.

Tara Heddy, 24, was arrested Sunday on charges of cultivation of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school, child abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia.  Charges are pending against her boyfriend, whom she said set up the operation and tended to the plants, according to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said a suspicious incident was reported at the Lincoln Avenue home after blood was found on a door.  An investigation uncovered  the marijuana growing operation, said deputies, who added that two children, ages 4 and 5, lived in the house.

According to Volusia deputies, the damage at the home was caused by the tenants, Heddy and her boyfriend.  No one was injured, however.

After obtaining a search warrant, agents said they found 26 marijuana plants and about 105 grams of harvested marijuana.

Most of the marijuana plants were growing in pots under high-intensity lights, deputies said.  In addition to the marijuana, narcotics agents said they also seized glass pipes and a variety of growing equipment, including lights, electric fans, an air pump and carbon filters, timers, carbon dioxide generators, an ozone purifier and a variety of fertilizers and grow chemicals.
