ORLANDO, Fla. – A woman and a teenage boy were shot early Thursday in an Orlando home invasion, according to deputies.

The double shooting occurred around 12:35 a.m. in the 7400 block of Golden Glenn Court near Goldenrod Road.

According to the Orange County Sheriff's Office, a man entered an unlocked house and demanded valuables from five people inside.  Some residents tried to get the man to leave, but he pulled a gun and started shooting, striking a 42-year-old woman and her 16-year-old son, according to Sandra Morris, who was in the home when the gunfire erupted.

The woman was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center and the teen was transported to Arnold Palmer Hospital.  Both suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Morris said she heard five or six shots but never saw the shooter.

"I figured they would come get me next," Morris said.

The gunman fled after the shootings, said deputies, who added that the incident appears to be drug-related.  It's not believed that anything was taken from the home.

The assailant was only described by deputies as about 20 years old.  He was wearing a red shirt and blue jeans.
