Marion County deputies charged 3 in deadly house fire
CITRA, Fla. – Three people have been charged in connection to a deadly house fire in Citra.
Dillon Gresham, 23, Angel Crystal Faith Long, 22, and Timothy Mayhew, 20, have been charged with grand theft after deputies say they stole the car of 64-year-old Robert Hiles, who was killed in the fire.
The fire ignited at a home on Wednesday at 17760 NE 18th Ave. in Citra.
Firefighters pulled Hiles from the mobile home. He was not identified by deputies.
The homeowner was unresponsive when he was found. Crew members pulled him from the home and began assessment and treatment, authorities said.
Marion County Fire Rescue officials said the man was taken to Ocala Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Firefighters were able to stop the fire, which consumed about 25 percent of the home, officials said.
The trio was arrested in Alabama and charges for the homicide are still pending, deputies said.
