Teen arrested for DUI after falling asleep at wheel, Ocala police say

18-year-old charged with possession of alcohol, told police he drank vodka after work

OCALA, Fla. – An 18-year-old is arrested on driving under the influence charges after witnesses reported him falling asleep at the wheel while stopped at a red light, according to an Ocala police report.

Jeremiah Hawkins told police he drank Pinnacle Vodka straight from the bottle when he got off of work at 6:30 a.m. Monday. Police found the bottle, 75 percent empty, in the back of his vehicle at the time of arrest. Hawkins was the only occupant in the car, according to a police report.

Hawkins was taken to the Marion County Jail on charges of driving under the influence and possessing alcohol under 21 years of age, according to a police report.
