ORLANDO, Fla. – Orlando police are searching for two gunmen who robbed a 24-hour Subway restaurant south of downtown.

The robbery happened after midnight Wednesday at the Subway at 1742 South Orange Avenue, which is near Orlando Regional Medical Center.

According to police, each man pulled out a handgun when they entered the restaurant and demanded that the clerks empty the cash register.

After cash was handed over, the assailants ran out the front door and most likely fled in a nearby vehicle, officers said.

Police searched the area but were not able to immediately locate the culprits.

Detectives questioned employees and reviewed surveillance video from inside the restaurant, but only a vague description of the gunmen was provided.

No customers were inside at the time of the robbery, and no one was hurt.
