Masked men sought in armed robbery at Daytona Beach hotel

Men held hotel workers at gunpoint, police say

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Daytona Beach police are searching for the masked men they say held a hotel worker at gunpoint and stole money from the hotel's cash register early Wednesday morning.

The robbery was reported at Comfort Suites on Professional Boulevard just after midnight on Wednesday.

Police said two men went behind the front desk, kicked the employee officer door open and held a gun to the worker's head, demanding money from a safe.

The worker told the men there was no safe but they could give them the cash in the drawer, according the report. The men took $130 and left, also pushing another woman to the ground and searching her purse, according to the report.

The men were described by police as wearing dark clothing, black ski masks and banadanas.

The hotel management declined to comment on the robbery but said they've been in business for about 10 years and this is the first time an armed robbery has occurred.
