Man arrested in connection to Deltona robberies

DELTONA, Fla. – A 24-year-old man was arrested Friday in connection to a series of robberies over the past two weeks in Deltona, according to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office.

The robberies -- a total of four -- began Aug. 3 at a Circle K store on Elkcam Boulevard.

Deputies said the same store was robbed the next night, and a liquor store across the street was robbed the following night.

The last robbery happened Tuesday at another Circle K store on Howland Boulevard. No one was hurt in the robberies, deputies said.

Investigators blanketed the community, following leads, going door-to-door seeking information and handing out fliers by hand and through social media in order to circulate surveillance images from the robberies, according to the Sheriff's Office.

On Friday, Alander Strother was arrested on four counts of armed robbery. Deputies said Strother is in custody and being detained in Deltona. He was expected to be transported Friday evening to the Volusia County Branch Jail, in Daytona Beach, where he initially will be held without bond.

Investigators executed a search warrant at a home on Branchville Drive where Strother was living, looking for any evidence connected to the robberies, deputies said.

The investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are possible, according to the Sheriff's Office.
