Police: 3rd suspect sought in crash of stolen truck

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Two men have been arrested and one remains on the loose after a stolen truck crashed Wednesday in Daytona Beach.

An officer was conducting radar in a school zone at Chiles Academy at 868 George Engram when he said he heard engines roaring and saw two vehicles -- a 1995 Ford Ranger and possibly a silver Dodge Charger -- speed past him at an estimated 80 mph.

Police said the Ford Ranger clipped a vehicle that was turning, causing the Ranger to flip and land on top of a silver Toyota.

Witnesses told police there were three people in the Ranger, which had been reported stolen. However, the third suspect was able to flee the scene.

Police arrested the two other men in the Ranger, Tykeam Walker, 19, and Louis Mitchell Jr., 18.

The driver of the Toyota was treated at the scene for injuries to the face and arm. The driver of the truck that the Ranger clipped complained of knee pain but told officials he would seek medical attention later.

Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of the third person that was in the Ranger is asked to contact Crimestoppers at 888-277-8477.
