Publix recalls jalapeno bagels over possible glass, small stones

Florida stores among the affected, officials say

LAKELAND, Fla. – Publix has issued a voluntary recall on Tuesday for its jalapeno bagels in their stores because they may contain pieces of glass and small stones.

According to a Publix release, the Publix jalapeno bagels are sold in either the self-service bins or artisan cases in the bakery department.

The Publix jalapeño bagels were distributed to Publix store locations in Alabama, Florida, Georgia and South Carolina.

"As part of our commitment to food safety, potentially impacted product has been removed from all affected bakery departments," said Maria Brous, Publix media and community relations director, in a release. "To date, there have been no reported cases of illness or injury."
