11-year-old student Baker Acted, may face charges
VIERA, Fla. – A Brevard County 11-year-old may be charged after deputies say the student brought a knife on a school bus on Thursday.
Deputies said they were called to Judge Fran Jamison Way in Viera at 3 p.m. Thursday by the driver.
The bus driver told deputies he was notified a student on the bus may have a knife and stopped the bus, according to the report.
The driver confiscated the knife, which was described as a kitchen utensil, and called authorities.
No injuries were reported and no students were threatened during the incident, deputies said.
The 11-year-old student was Baker Acted and may face charges relating to the possession of a weapon on school grounds, pending a State Attorney review.
The name of the student was not released by deputies.
